Senegal international Ismail Jakobs has made a return to playing after two-and-a-half months on the sidelines due to an Achilles tendon injury. The Galatasaray player came on as a substitute Friday when his club Galatasaray beat Samsunspor 2-0 in league play.
The 25-year-old left back last played for the Istanbul outfit in late January before being forced out for an extended period. Jakobs made 19 appearances for Galatasaray in all competitions after completing a loan move from French side Monaco.
Jakobs only managed to amass a few minutes upon his return to action, coming on during the final ten minutes. Galatasaray coach Buruk Okan reportedly does not want to rush the Senegalese into action too quickly.
Senegal national team coach Pape Thiaw used Monaco player Krepin Diatta and Standard Liege wide midfielder Ilay Camara as makeshift left backs during World Cup qualifying matches in March due to the absence of Jakobs.
