Senegalese side Casa Sports failed to get a solidarity payment when their former player Nicolas Jackson was transferred from Villarreal to English side Chelsea on a fee close to $45 million USD.
Jackson, 23, started his career at Casa before heading to Spain in 2019. The Senegal international showed his prowess at Villarreal from where he made a big money move to West London. Casa was subject to a solidarity payment since they are the one that trained Jackson when he started his career.
The Senegal Football Federation (FSF) have been made the scapegoat for the failure after they reportedly failed to notify FIFA about the relationship between Jackson and Casa Sports. FSF failed to write the name of the player on his sport passport as FIFA ruled Casa out of the solidarity payment scheme. The fee is believed to be in the region of $189,625 dollars.
The apparent administrative blunder has now cost Casa a huge sum of money. It is not known whether the club will take FSF to court or seek repayment.
Since his move to the Blues, Jackson has become a regular starter. So far during his year-and-a-half stay he has scored 23 Premier League goals in 55 appearances.
