Kitara FC delivered a stunning performance on Saturday, recording the biggest victory of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season so far with a 7-0 thrashing of Express FC at Butema Grounds in Hoima.

George Senkaaba stole the show with a hat-trick while Jude Ssemugabi added a brace. Fred Amaku and David Ndihabwe also got their names on the scoresheet in a match that highlighted Kitara’s attacking prowess under coach Wasswa Bbosa.

The emphatic win, Kitara’s fourth in five matches, saw the Royals climb two places to ninth with 17 points, 11 adrift of league leaders Vipers SC. Their recent form is remarkable, having scored 21 goals in the last five games, including a 7-0 victory over Express, a 4-0 triumph over Maroons and a 6-0 rout of Mbale Heroes.

For Express FC, it was a second consecutive loss after falling 2-1 to URA FC in their previous match. The Red Eagles are now fifth on the table with 19 points from five wins, four draws and four defeats.

Match Summary

Kitara wasted no time asserting their dominance, opening the scoring in the second minute. An intricate play involving Jude Ssemugabi, Lazaro Bwambale and Solomon Okwalinga ended with Okwalinga’s precise cross being met by Senkaaba’s header past Express goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa.

Ssemugabi doubled the lead in the 21st minute with a dazzling solo run, breezing past several defenders before slotting home with a low left-footed effort.

Fred Amaku made it 3-0 in the 36th minute, finishing off a well-timed pass from Senkaaba after a long delivery into the box.

The second half offered no respite for Express. Ssemugabi provided a pinpoint cross in the 58th minute for Senkaaba to tap in his second and Kitara’s fourth.

The floodgates remained open as Senkaaba completed his hat-trick in the 77th minute, pouncing on a rebound to make it 5-0. A minute later, Ssemugabi struck again, this time with a neat finish to make it 6-0.

David Ndihabwe capped off the humiliation with a late goal in the 86th minute, sealing a resounding 7-0 victory for Kitara.
