Under head coach Cesc FÃ bregas, Como continue to move further and further away from the relegation zone after a third consecutive victory on Saturday at Lecce.
On fire Senegalese forward Assane Diao turned in a Man of the Match performance, scoring twice in the 3-0 victory for the visitors. The 19-year-old was played in behind the Lecce defense by a Nico Paz pass and his 33rd minute goal was confirmed after a VAR review.
After holding out until the late stages of the match, Edoardo Goldaniga headed in the second goal for the visitors before Diao added insult to injury for the hosts with his second in stoppage time.
Diao, who recently debuted for the Senegalese national team in March's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, has three goals and an assist during Como's three-match winning streak. He now has eight goals and an assist in fifteen matches since joining from Real Betis and based on the increasing rumors of another transfer, could be on his way to a bigger stage.
