Serie A: Zambo Anguissa scores but Napoli fail to gain ground against Inter

Serie A title contenders Napoli got off to an ideal start but hosts Bologna fought back to continue their unbeaten run in Monday's 1-1 draw at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

André Frank Zambo Anguissa opened the scoring in the 18th minute for Napoli, who remain three points back of Serie A leaders Inter Milan. The Cameroon national team midfielder displayed excellent pace and balance to get around Bologna goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski and tap in his sixth goal of the season.

However, an in form Bologna team dominated possession and Napoli created little to nothing in the second half. Swiss forward Dan Ndoye finished off the crossbar from a Jens Odgaard cross to equalize for the home side in the 64th minute in an eventual draw. Fourth placed Bologna had won their last six matches in all competitions coming into Monday's match.

Zambo Anguissa continues to do his part for Napoli. His six goals this season are by far a career high, more than the last four seasons combined at Napoli and Fulham.

A much easier match awaits for Napoli as they attempt to put more pressure on defending champions Inter. The Gli Azzurri will host Empoli, who have not won a league match since 8 December, next Monday.
