Accra Hearts of Oak new signee Seth Osei has ruled out being under any form of pressure after joining the 21-time Ghana Premier League champions and 2000 CAF Champions League winners.
The diminutive attacking midfielder joined the Phobians on a two-and-a-half-year deal which keeps him at the club until 2028 after a short spell with South Africa’s TS Galaxy. The former AshantiGold forward could be called upon to play his first game on Friday when the record Ghana FA Cup holders host title chasers Heart of Lions at the Legon Sports Stadium.
The 25-year-old described the atmosphere in camp as cordial in an interview with Hearts TV:
“There is no form of pressure on me. They [teammates] are friendly and as a player when you go to any team, you have to know how to operate with the guys. They are like brothers to me so I live with them like the same brothers, living in the same neighbourhood so we are having a cordial relationship. There is no problem with anybody,” Osei told Hearts TV.
“Because I have always taken them as my brothers, we talk, we do everything so I think everything is going the right way."
“Coach [Aboubakar] Ouattara has been advising me even before I came to this team. He always calls me and tells me 'you don’t need to put pressure on yourself.' You need to always take everything easy and the rest is going to come,” the new signing added.
Hearts of Oak currently sit 5th on the league table with 30 points, four behind rivals and leaders Asante Kotoko. Gold Stars and Heart of Lions sit tied in second, both on 33 points with Nations FC in fourth on the table after Matchday 18.
