Uganda Cranes striker Shaban Muhammad netted his first Libyan Premier League goal of the season to help Al Hilal Benghazi secure a commanding 3-0 victory over Branes SC on Christmas Day.
Shaban opened the scoring in the 25th minute, setting the tone for a dominant performance by Al Hilal. This marked his second competitive goal for the club since his move in August.
Starting for the first time this season, Shaban played until the 61st minute before being substituted for Libyan forward Ezzedine Al Miriami. The win places Al Hilal Benghazi second in Group Two with six points from three games, trailing leaders Al Ahly Benghazi by a single point.
Al Ahly, home to Ugandan defender Richard Juuko Kasagga, continues to lead the group standings. Elsewhere, fellow Ugandan forward Erick Kambale featured for Elettihad Misraty SC, who suffered a 2-0 loss to Al Ahli Tripoli in another Christmas Day fixture.
The Libyan Premier League consists of 35 clubs divided into four groups, three groups of nine teams and one group of eight, adding a competitive edge to the race for supremacy.
