
Newly appointed Sierra Leone head coach Mohamed Kallon has hit the ground running, naming a group of players for a camp to evaluate home-based players before two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The former Leone Stars forward has officially taken charge of the national team ahead of the qualifiers with training resuming on Tuesday. Kallon, who played for top clubs like Inter Milan and Ligue 1 side, AS Monaco, has named a 25-man squad ahead of the encounter.
The home-based players will start preparing for Kallon's first two matches in charge of the national team against Guinea-Bissau and Egypt respectively next month. Sierra Lone are currently level with third placed Burkina Faso on five points in Group A, with Guinea-Bissau second on six points and Egypt atop the group on ten points.

The group winner qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The four best runners-up from the nine groups qualify for a four-team playoff to reach the intercontinental playoff.
Training will commence in Freetown on Tuesday and some of these local players will make the final list which will also include foreign-based footballers for the two 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The squad includes five players from FC Kallon with the remaining players spread across the other top flight clubs in the domestic league. Musa Noah Kamara is the most notable name in the list, the 24-year-old Bo Rangers forward who has scored three international goals for the Leone Stars including a goal in their 2-2 draw against Ivory Coast at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
