Sierra Leone center back Abdulai Juma Bah stated the Leone Stars are ready to face Guinea-Bissau in Thursday's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying duel. Sierra Leone will host Guinea-Bissau later today in Monrovia, Liberia.

The 18-year-old defender is set to make his debut for the senior team under head coach Mohamed Kallon. The RC Lens player signed for Premier League giants Manchester City in January 2025 before joining the French Ligue 1 club on loan. Bah said the Guinea-Bissau match is a must win game:

“We just need to show personality, character and give our all because we have a very good coach (Mohamed Kallon) and good players. I know we came here to give everything. It is a very important game for us. We need to get the three points at all costs.”

Kallon’s charges played a warm up game against the Sierra Leone U-20 side behind closed doors last Thursday. Former Major League Soccer star Kei Kamara scored the lone goal of the game. Juma Bah is expected to start the game against Guinea Bissau, which will be Kallon’s first World Cup qualifier game as a coach.

Sierra Leone are fourth with five points in Group A, a point shy of second placed Guinea-Bissau.
