Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has revealed why they will face a tough test against Singida Black Stars in the Mainland Premier League fixture on Saturday.

The Wekundu wa Msimbazi will be keen to stretch their lead at the top of the 16-team league table when they come up against a Singida Black Stars side, who are currently sitting fourth on the log with 33 points from 15 matches.

The fixture at Liti Stadium comes after Simba had won their third straight match in December. After their 2-1 win against CS Sfaxien in the Caf Confederation Cup, they have beaten KenGold 2-0, Kagera Sugar 5-1 and JKT Tanzania 1-0.

“It is going to be a tough game, Singida is not an easy team, we will face a team with quality, with top players and it is something we will have to strive as hard as we can to win the game,” Davids told Pan-Africa Football.

“We want to protect the way we play, we want to be the best and make sure we get more points, it will be an entertaining game and we are ready to deliver a positive result. Every good performance as good as it is, we have to improve, so we always try to get that perfection, and you know perfection is not real in football but we try to improve and make sure we do the job.

“Every player has to perform at the best of their ability, and football is a team sport, so we must play as a team, put up unified performances and that is what we work on, we always push together, we want to win together and so we will strive to win again. Our performance is not down to one player.”

Simba are topping the league with 37 points from 14 matches, one more point than second-placed Young Africans (Yanga SC), who have amassed 36 points, the same as third placed Azam FC.
