Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) international Simon Banza was on target as Trabzonspor registered a convincing 4-0 victory against Sivasspor in a Turkish Super Lig fixture at Papara Park on Monday.
Trabzonspor went ahead in the sixth minute when Arseniy Batagov scored from a nice delivery before the 28-year-old Banza, who is on loan from Portuguese club S.C Braga, doubled the lead in the 13th minute.
Ozan Tufan ensured Trabzonspor went into the half-time break with a healthy advantage after finding the back of the net in the 31st minute. At start of the second half, Banza should have scored the fourth, his second of the day, but he missed a one-on-one opportunity.
However, forward John Lundstram sealed the emphatic win in the 86th minute. The win enabled Trabzonspor to jump to ninth on the league table with 25 points from 19 matches. They have secured six wins, seven draws and suffered six defeats.
Meanwhile, the draw saw Sivasspor to 15th on the 19-team log with 20 points from 19 matches. They have managed five wins, five draws and nine defeats. In the current league campaign, Banza has made 16 appearances, scored 13 goals and provided two assists.
Last season for Braga, he managed 20 appearances but did not score any goal while in the previous campaign with the same club, he scored 21 goals from 28 matches.
