Tanzania Mainland Premier League outfit Singida Black Stars have confirmed the appointment of head coach Miloud Hamdi for the rest of the current campaign.
The Algerian-French tactician was unveiled on Monday with the club tasking him to guide the team to a top-four finish in the Premier League this season and securing qualification for continental football next season.
“We are pleased to announce the arrival of Miloud Hamdi from France,” read a statement from the club seen by Pan-Africa Football. “Hamdi will be assisted by Nassim Anisse and Kenya coach David Ouma. Additionally, former acting head coach Ramadhan Nswanzurimo will return to his role as the club’s technical director, ensuring continuity within the technical team.”
In June 2012, Hamdi was appointed as manager of Saudi Arabian club Ettifaq's under-21 team. In 2015, Hamdi joined USM Alger’s coaching staff, initially as an assistant coach before being eventually appointed as the head coach in October.
His most recent position was at Al-Khaldiya FC in Bahrain. He joins a Singida side, who are currently sitting fourth on the 16 team league table with 33 points from 16 matches. They have managed 10 wins, three draws and three defeats.
Their last league fixture was against table leaders Simba SC, who beat them 1-0 at Litti Stadium in Singida. Hamdi comes in to replace Belgian Patrick Aussems, who was fired following a string of poor results.
