The Somalia Football Federation (SFF) confirmed 22 of their U-17 national team players have passed Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) tests ahead of their participation at the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The young Ocean Stars will be playing against Tunisia on April 1st in their Group C opener.

In a statement, the SFF confirmed all players passed the test and are fit to compete in the tournament. Somalia are competing in their second ever U-17 AFCON after debuting at the 2023 edition where they bowed out in the group stages. Somalia won the CECAFA U-17 Championship in Addis Ababa to qualify for the 2023 finals. For the upcoming edition, Somalia finished in third place at the CECAFA U-17 Championship.

Somalia are drawn against two-time champions Gambia, reigning champions Senegal and Tunisia. The team camped in Morocco for a fortnight as they wrapped up their preparations. The team lost 3-1 to Ivory Coast in a warm up match ahead of the competition.
