The latest edition of South Africa's Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday resulted in further misery for Carling Knockout Cup champions Magesi FC, who fell 3-0 to a select team coached by Orlando Pirates gaffer Jose Riveiro.

The match, which pit Magesi up against an all-star team composed of players from throughout South Africa's top division Betway Premiership, was not competitive at all. The Carling All Stars scored all three goals in the opening half hour with a brace from Kaizer Chiefs player Naledi Hlongwane as wel as one from Hlongwane's club teammate Samkelo Zwane.

Magesi, who have not won a match since their Knockout Cup final victory over Mamelodi Sundowns on November 23, may not have appreciated the timing of the exhibition match considering they are now bottom of the table in league play. Coach Clinton Larsen announced following the match that he will not continue in his role for Magesi who will now search for a manager to lead them in their relegation battle.
