URA FC head coach Alex Isabirye has cautioned his players against underestimating FUFA Big League side Kataka FC as they face off in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16.

With a quarterfinal spot at stake, URA FC is eager to join fellow Uganda Premier League sides SC Villa, Police, KCCA, BUL, and defending champions Kitara FC in the next stage.

However, Isabirye, a multiple Uganda Cup winner with URA, BUL, and Vipers, is wary of the challenge posed by their lower-tier opponents. “There is not much difference between us and them because we are both in this stage of the competition,” Isabirye warned.

“In recent years, we saw Proline, a Big League team, win the Uganda Cup, so we must approach this game with full commitment.” URA FC's journey to this stage has been hard-fought.

They edged Kalongo United 2-1 on penalties in Agago and secured a 1-0 victory over Mabira TC in Kasese, courtesy of a Moses Aliro strike. With the league title race slipping away, the Uganda Cup presents a crucial opportunity for silverware this season.

Meanwhile, two other fixtures will complete the Round of 16 today. UPDF FC visits FUFA Big League side Karo Karungi, while Vipers SC hosts another Big League team, Blacks Power FC, under the Kitende floodlights.
