The 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 continued on Tuesday with three more matches.
In Najjembe, SC Villa edged Lugazi FC 1-0 to advance to the quarterfinals. Reagan Mpande scored the decisive goal in the 69th minute, coming off the bench to seal the win for Villa.
The absence of key players Ronald Ssekiganda and Patrick Jonah Kakande who are on national duty with Uganda Cranes in Egypt did not hinder Villa's progress.
In another match, BUL FC thrashed Total FC 7-0 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. Isaac Wagoina, Karim Ndugwa and Reagan Kalyowa each scored a brace while Lawrence Tezikya tallied the other goal.
The Eastern Giants' convincing win secured their spot in the last eight. In the late kickoff, KCCA FC ousted Rwenzori Lions at the MTN Omondi stadium.
James Mubeezi opened the scoring in the ninth minute and Sadat Anaku doubled the lead in the second half. Mubeezi added a third goal, and substitute Etienne Katenga sealed the emphatic 4-0 win.
KCCA FC joins SC Villa, BUL FC, Police FC, and reigning champions Kitara FC in the quarterfinals.
