The draw for the 2025 Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 has been conducted at FUFA Complex in Mengo, setting up intriguing fixtures as teams battle for a spot in the quarter-finals.
The draw, conducted by former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Ibrahim Mugisha, has set up some mouthwatering clashes, with URA FC to host Kataka FC, defending champions Kitara FC set to face FUFA Big League side Gaddafi FC, while three-time winners Vipers SC take on Blacks Power FC, who stunned last year’s runners-up NEC FC in the previous round.
Vipers booked their place in this stage with a 2-0 win over Mbarara City, while Blacks Power eliminated NEC FC by the same scoreline at Lugogo. Record joint winners KCCA FC will meet Rwenzori Lions FC, while nine-time champions SC Villa are set for a tricky trip to face resurgent Lugazi FC.
URA FC will take on Kataka FC, whereas 2022 champions BUL FC have been drawn against Total FC, who recently eliminated Express FC. The clash between Maroons FC and Police FC is expected to be another competitive fixture, while Kaaro Karungi FC will host UPDF FC in the remaining tie.
The matches are scheduled to take place between March 17th and March 21st. Kitara FC are the defending champions, having edged NEC FC 1-0 in last year’s final at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
