The head coach of Sudan’s national male team James Kwesi Appiah remains confident about the chances of his side putting up a good show at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Kwesi Appiah’s assertions come after the draw at the Mohammed V Theatre in Rabat on Monday, January 27 where Sudan are paired in group E alongside Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea.

The former Ghana Black Stars head coach says Sudan is not afraid of any opponent in Group, expressing confidence in his team’s resolve to perform very well at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

“Sudan, we are in Group E, and all the teams there are really good. For me, for you to participate in a competition, then your aim should be going out there to win the cup.

“If you're afraid of any team, then why are you participating in the competition in the first place? I believe that Sudan will perform very well and I'm hopeful that any team that we meet, we will try our best to get a victory,” Coach James Kwesi Appiah said.

The 2025 AFCON which is set to begin on Sunday, December 21 and will run through to January 2026 with the final scheduled for Sunday, January 18.
