Mamelodi Sundowns centre-back Mosa Lebusa has ruled out going into Sunday’s CAF Champions League final Group B match against AS FAR with a mentality of playing for a draw.

Lebusa told Soccer Africa programme on SuperSport Television that it is not in Sundowns’ players’ DNA to approach any game casually even after sealing a quarterfinal berth from the group.

“If we draw and Raja Casablanca win, what will happen? In front of our supporters, the first home game of the year? We can’t draw. We have to win the game. There is no draw; three points that is all. There is no going into a game saying we want one point. No, it is three points. If you go into a game wanting a draw and concede first then you will be under pressure,” he said.

Reflecting on their last Champions League game against AS Maniema Union over the weekend, the 32-year-old defender said they were partly affected by the humid conditions in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Sundowns had to come from behind to beat the hosts 2-1 with Peter Shaluline snatching a late equaliser and then forcing an own goal by AS Maniema Union 2-1.

Miguel Cardoso’s men are in second place in the group standings one point behind AS FAR with both teams hoping to finish at the summit, a position that ensures they face the second-placed team in the other pool when a quarterfinal draw is made.
