Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise says they are bracing for ‘a difficult’ Betway Premiership match against AmaZulu FC on Tuesday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The midfielder told Sundowns' website that AmaZulu are likely to come out fighting as they desperately need maximum points to move further away from the drop zone and impress their home fans. “We are playing a difficult game because AmaZulu are looking for points just like we do,” Mkhulise is quoted saying.
“The mere fact that they will be playing at home will make them put up a fight because they’ll be looking to make their supporters happy on home soil. They are not an easy team to beat, especially because they have outstanding players. They have been playing well, but they have not always been able to get the desired results. So, I expect a very difficult encounter.”
AmaZulu go into the game with a spring in their step after beating Royal AM 2-1 in the last match whereas Sundowns, under new coach Miguel Cardoso, edged Stellenbosch last week.
Sundowns under Cardoso have yet to concede since he arrived to replace Mangoba Mngqithi as head coach with Masandawana earning back-to-back 1-0 wins over Raja Casablanca and Stellenbosch.
