Zamalek SC will name Swiss tactician Christian Gross as the club’s new head coach. Gross will succeed Portuguese manager José Gomes who recently departed to accept an offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Fateh.
The team will be temporarily led by interim coach Ahmed Magdy in their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Al Masry. Magdy is set to join Gomes as part of his backroom staff at Al-Fateh before Gross takes over the reins.
Gross previously managed Zamalek from July 2018 to May 2019. During his tenure, he led the club to their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup title and also claimed the Egyptian-Saudi Super Cup by defeating Al Hilal.
