Zimbabawe international Tawanda Chirewa has completed a transfer move to Huddersfield Town from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the 2024/25 season.
“We are delighted to announce the loan signing of attacking player Tawanda Chirewa from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the 2024/25 season,” Huddersfield confirmed on their official website.
“A full international for Zimbabwe, 21-year-old Chirewa spent the first half of the 2024/25 season on loan with Sky Bet Championship side Derby County before returning to his parent club earlier this month.
“Highly thought of at Wolves, Tawanda has already made his senior debut for the side, appearing 8 times in the Premier League and twice in the Emirates FA Cup, including in the Black Country derby against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns. He was last on the bench for Wolves as soon as last Saturday for their Premier League victory over Aston Villa.”
The statement continued: “Born in Chelmsford, his youth career began with Ipswich Town before moving to the midlands with Wolves in September 2023, with his international debut for Zimbabwe quickly following in March 2024.
Chirewa became the fourth signing of the January 2025 transfer window, after joining Ruben Roosken, Joe Taylor and Dion Charles in signing for the Club, and will wear squad number 27.
