Ghana defender Terry Yegbe has set his sights on climbing to the highest echelon of his football career with reported interest from several European clubs.
The 24-year-old defender based with Swedish top division side Elfsborg was in fantastic form for his club last season, playing 22 matches and recording 3 goals under his sleeve. He has played the first game this term for Elfsborg in their 2-2 home draw against Mjallby where he played the full match, providing 62 passes and winning one tackle in the Allsvenskan.
The former Vision FC center-back has been linked to several European clubs like Brighton, Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Sheffield United in the Premier League, as well as German sides Union Berlin and Freiburg.
In reaction to these rumours, Yegbe admitted he had not heard anything official but acknowledged the positive nature of such interest. “If those types of teams are interested, it's positive news of course. I haven't heard anything yet, but it's positive when big clubs want you," Yegbe told Fotbollskanalen.
In terms of his future, Yegbe has expressed a clear ambition to reach the highest level in his career. “Just to reach the highest level. But I need to continue developing to get there,” he stated.
Yegbe made his Black Stars debut in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Niger where Ghana lost 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium. He lasted 79 minutes on the pitch with the four time African champions failing to qualify for the tournament in Morocco.
His performances in the Europa League, where he played in 12 matches, have further raised his profile on the European stage.
