There is a clearout at TP Mazembe who have released strikers Obed Mayamba Mukokiani, Moïse Kaniki Pumba, and winger Chico Ushindi wa Kubanza. The trio struggled for game-time at the Democratic Republic of the Congo side.
In a statement, Mazembe confirmed that the trio, who were on loan elsewhere, have left the Lubumbashi-based outfit. Mukokiani spent last season on loan at Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto while Pumba was shipped out to Don Bosco FC for more game-time.
Mukokiani joined Mazembe on a two-year contract on September 1, 2024, but the “two parties agreed to terminate the contract amicably.”
Moise Katumbi’s team also decided to terminate the contract for Pumba largely due to injuries that saw him undergoing surgery in Belgium in 2021. He made a few appearances for Mazembe before being loaned several times to CS Don Bosco where he played a few games.
Kubanza, too, has left Mazembe ahead of the expiration of a five-year contract he signed in 2020 during which he spent three loan spells in Tanzania at Yanfa, Nejmeh FC in Lebanon, and CS Don Bosco.
