Tusker head coach Charles Okere believes they will face a difficult game when they take on relegation-threatened Posta Rangers at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.
The Ruaraka-based outfit will be keen to make it two wins out of two when they face the Mailmen, who are currently languishing at the bottom of the table with 11 points from 13 matches.
The Brewers will head into the game basking from their 2-1 win against Bidco United. The win against Bidco came after they had suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat against AFC Leopards.
Speaking ahead of the game, Okere told Pan-Africa Football: “We know, and I have told the boys that this will not be an easy game. We don’t need to look at where Posta is in the standings. They are a good side and it’s never easy against them.”
On team’s progress so far, Okere explained: “I believe we have really grown and the players have now adapted. The new players are understanding the philosophy of the team and gelling in well. We had many new faces coming in and we see that they are now giving us results.”
On Sunday, all eyes will be on champions Gor Mahia, who will entertain Kariobangi Sharks at Kenyatta Stadium. After going for three matches without a win, Gor Mahia rediscovered their form to fire three goals past Ulinzi Stars on Wednesday and revive their hopes of retaining the title.
Gor Mahia are now three points away from the top of the table and a win against Sharks could be a good result as they strive to win a third straight title. Austin Odhiambo, who was named man of the match against Ulinzi Stars, will be relied on once again for a win, assisted by Rooney Onyango, who scored the second goal against the Soldiers.
