URA FC head coach Alex Isabirye has urged his side to be more clinical after their 2-1 win over UPDF FC last Friday at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Matchday 19 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Midfielder Abraham Tusubira, who joined URA FC at the start of the season from Maroons FC, was the hero of the day, scoring the match-winning goal in the 65th minute—his first for the club. Isabirye was full of praise for the playmaker and challenged him to build on this performance.
“Everyone knows Tusubira’s potential. It was just a matter of time. He is one of the best midfielders in the country, and this is his moment to prove why we signed him. I expect him to perform even better moving forward,” Isabirye stated.
Despite the win, the coach emphasized the need for his team to be more efficient in converting their chances to ensure consistency in results. Meanwhile, the game also marked the return of goalkeeper Derrick Ochan to league action.
Isabirye acknowledged the shot-stopper’s struggles with injuries but expressed confidence in his ability. “Ochan was our first-choice keeper at the start of the season, but injuries have kept him out.
He has been playing in the Uganda Cup, which helped us prepare him for this return. He has the experience to help the team, though I also trust the other goalkeepers in the squad,” he added. URA FC, currently fourth in the league with 30 points, will shift focus to a crucial clash against third-placed BUL FC on Friday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
