Ghana Premier League club, Medeama SC have parted ways with head coach Nebojsa Kapor after they lost 3-2 to newly promoted club Vision FC on Saturday.

Kapor, who signed a one-year deal in December 2023, steps away after the Mauve and Yellow reportedly failed to agree on a contract extension for the Bosnian tactician. Medeama SC entered last season’s Ghana Premier League campaign as one of the favorites to win the domestic top flight title but they have been far from that tag due to their inconsistent performance.

The former Ghana Premier League champions currently sit three points off the top with 21 points from 13 games recording six wins, four losses, and three draws. The club has announced that technical director Evans Adotey will take temporary charge until a substantive coach is named.

Also, last season’s CAF Champions League campaigners FC Samartex have gone their separate ways with head coach Nurudeen Amadu. The experienced Ghanaian trainer who joined the side in July 2023 left the club on mutual grounds after 13 matches into the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Samartex won the 2023/24 Premier League title but the Timber Giants have been poor this season, a performance that is a far cry from last season’s output. They have recorded three consecutive defeats in the top-flight and are also out of the MTN FA Cup after a 2-0 defeat to rivals Bibiani Gold Stars SC.

Samartex’s CAF Champions League participation ended in the preliminary round against Raja Casablanca. Assistant coach Henry Wellington will take charge temporarily until a substantive appointment is made in the course of the season.

FC Samartex, who sit 10th on the league log with 17 points will make a trip to face Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in the Matchday 14 games this weekend.
