In a bid to overturn a two-goal deficit, Uganda’s U17 girls’ national team head coach, Sheryl Botes, has unveiled a 20-player squad set to battle Kenya in the return leg of the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
The highly anticipated clash is scheduled for Sunday, 16th March 2025, in Kenya. With Kenya securing a 2-0 victory in the first leg in Kampala, thanks to first-half goals from Joan Ogola and Edna Nasipondwi, Uganda faces an uphill task to keep their World Cup dream alive.
Kenya is aiming for consecutive World Cup appearances, while Uganda must deliver an exceptional performance to advance to the next qualifying stage. The aggregate winner will square off against either Ethiopia or Cameroon in the following round.
The Ugandan contingent, led by FUFA Executive Committee Member Issa Magola Kakaire, has already arrived in Kenya, ready to put up a spirited fight and make the nation proud.
