UEFA Champions League: Guirassy hat-trick not enough for Dortmund, Hakimi scores as PSG advance

Tuesday's action from the UEFA Champions League featured plenty of drama as two second leg matches maintained a high level of suspense until full time.

Guinea national team striker Serhou Guirassy returned to the top of the Champions League scoring charts but he will not be able to add any more goals. Guirassy's Borussia Dortmund side made a valiant effort to overturn a 0-4 first leg defeat at Barcelona but the Spanish giants did just enough to progress on the aggregate score after Dortmund won 3-1 at home.

Guirassy struck the opening goal from a penalty kick before producing two poacher's goals, the first from a close range header before taking advantage of sloppy defending from Barcelona to strike again in the 76th minute. However, a Ramy Bensebaini own goal early in the second half created a deficit that was too much for Dortmund to overcome.

Guirassy ends his Champions League campaign with 13 goals in 14 matches, one ahead of Barcelona's Raphinha.

Moroccan superstar Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring in a 2-3 defeat in England for Paris Saint-Germain that was just enough for the Parisians to edge Aston Villa. Hakimi showed all of his pace and stamina to finish in the 11th minute and Nuno Mendes doubled the lead in the 28th minute.

A remarkable charge from Villa saw the English Premier League club score three unanswered goals but a 1-3 defeat in the first leg played in Paris meant that PSG advanced to the semifinals with a 5-4 aggregate victory.
