Sports Club Villa made light work of Buganda Regional League side Seeta United, claiming a comfortable 3-0 victory in their Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 match played at the Seeta Church of Uganda playground on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Goals from Aslam Ssemakula, Patrick Jonah Kakande and Arnold Odongo ensured the StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions advanced to the next stage.

Ssemakula opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, giving SC Villa an early lead that held firm throughout the first half. Kakande doubled the advantage nine minutes into the second half before Odongo sealed the win with a thunderous header in the 75th minute off a Hassan Mubiru well weighed corner kick.

With this victory, the Jogoos join a growing list of teams in the Round of 32 including Simba, CATDA, Pakwach Young Stars, Police FC, Mbarara City, Lugazi FC, Wakiso Giants, URA FC, UPDF FC, Maroons, Soltilo Bright Stars, Gaddafi FC, defending champions Kitara FC, last year’s finalists NEC FC, Express FC, BUL FC and Vipers SC.

Meanwhile, Onduparaka FC failed to show up for their away fixture against Bushenyi Veterans while Soroti Thunders and Blacks Power encountered a venue mix-up for their scheduled clash in Soroti.

As things look, both Bushenyi Veterans and Blacks Power could proceed to the Round of 32 via boardroom decisions.

The winner of the Stanbic Uganda Cup earns a ticket to represent Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup.
