Ugandan international and Makerere University striker Sharon Namatovu has sealed a move to Gokulam Kerala Women FC in the Indian Women’s Super League.

Namatovu, who joins the club through Sepuya Inc Agency, will be eligible to feature in the league’s second round and is expected to make her debut on Sunday, March 9, 2025, as Gokulam Kerala Women FC visits Nita.

The prolific forward will reunite with fellow Ugandan Fazila Ikwaput, adding firepower to Gokulam’s attack. Namatovu joins a growing list of Ugandan players in the Indian Women’s Super League, which includes Amina Nababi, Hadijah Nandago, Joanita Ainembabazi, and Resty Nanziri.

In the 2023-24 season, Namatovu was a standout performer, finishing as the joint top scorer, sharing the golden boot with Agnes. She has previously played for Uganda Martyrs and Muteesa before making the switch to India.

Gokulam Kerala Women FC, the women’s football division of Gokulam Kerala FC, has been a dominant force in the Indian Women’s League, winning titles in 2019-20, 2021-22, and 2022-23.

With the addition of Namatovu, the club aims to strengthen its squad in pursuit of more silverware.
