Uganda U-20 national team defender and captain Toto Majub has officially signed for Atlanta United 2, the reserve team of Major League Soccer club Atlanta United who competes in the MLS Next Pro league for MLS reserve teams.
Majub, who captained the Uganda Hippos during the CECAFA U-20 Championship in Tanzania last year, was one of seven players unveiled as new additions to the Atlanta United 2 roster for the upcoming 2025 MLS Next Pro season.
A standout leader both on and off the pitch, Majub also captained Amus College to their first-ever East African title at the FEASSA Games held in Bukedea last August. He joins Ryan Carmichael, Patrick Weah, Moises Tablante, Salvatore Mazzaferro, Arif Kovac and Santiago Pita among the latest recruits for Atlanta United 2.
This move marks the second recent transfer from Amus College to the USA. Earlier this month, midfielder Allan Oyirwoth signed a four-year contract with Major League Soccer side New England Revolution. Majub’s transition to Atlanta United 2 is seen as a significant step for the young defender, offering him an opportunity to develop in a highly competitive environment.
