Lugazi FC have confirmed that Abdul Kalanzi has committed his future to the club by signing a five-year contract extension, keeping him at the Najjembe based side until 2031.

Kalanzi, a versatile and gifted attacking midfielder, has been a cornerstone of the team in his second stint with the club. Since rejoining in September 2023, he has consistently demonstrated his immense talent and commitment.

"I have had some fantastic time at Lugazi FC and I’m delighted to extend my stay here,” Kalanzi shared after penning his new deal. “Gaining promotion to the top flight last season was extremely special and it’s even more exciting to play in the Uganda Premier League with this team. I love the coaches, my teammates and the fans and I hope we can create more great memories together."

Kalanzi first joined Lugazi FC in 2021, playing a pivotal role in their promotion to the FUFA Big League. After a brief stint with CATDA FC, he returned to the club in 2023 and has been an essential figure in their rise.

Last season, his contributions of two goals and seven assists in 20 appearances were instrumental in securing Lugazi's promotion to the Uganda Premier League. This season, Kalanzi has hit the ground running, tallying three goals and four assists in just nine games across all competitions.

His ability to adapt to multiple roles, whether on the wings, in central midfield or leading the attack proves his importance to Steven Bogere’s team.

From memorable moments like his stunning equalizer against SC Villa to his spectacular free kick against BUL FC, Kalanzi has become a fan favorite igniting pride and excitement among the Lugazi faithful. His natural talent, unyielding commitment and team-first mentality have cemented his place as a cornerstone of the club's identity.

Kalanzi becomes the second player to extend his stay at Lugazi FC during this window, following Alvin Birungi who recently signed a deal through 2030.
