BUL FC kicked off the second half of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season in style with a 2-0 victory over Express FC at Nakivubo Stadium on Wednesday.

The visitors took the lead in the 13th minute when Emmanuel Wasswa inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, before Pascal Ngobi doubled BUL’s advantage five minutes to halftime.

The result secured BUL’s fifth win in 16 matches, lifting them to sixth place with 23 points, just two behind Express FC, who sit three places above them.

Elsewhere, Abdul Kalanzi’s 69th-minute strike from the penalty spot secured Lugazi FC a narrow 1-0 win over Police FC, marking their third league victory in 16 matches. The result saw them climb two places above the relegation zone with 17 points, while Police remain just a point ahead.

At Luzira, Soltilo Bright Stars staged a comeback to snatch a 1-1 draw against Maroons FC. Felix Okot had given Maroons the lead in the 55th minute, but Warren Bbuule equalized 11 minutes from time.

Maroons remain seventh with 23 points, while Bright Stars stay second from bottom on 11 points, still fighting to escape relegation.
