BUL FC have confirmed that midfielder Pascal Ngobi is on the road to recovery following a concerning incident during their Uganda Premier League (UPL) clash against Kitara FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Thursday.

Ngobi sustained an injury in BUL’s 1-0 victory and had to be substituted after just 30 minutes, with head coach Abbey Kikomeko bringing on Jeromy Kirya in his place by the 35th minute. Kirya went on to make a decisive impact, scoring the game’s only goal in the 53rd minute, securing a league double over Kitara and BUL’s fourth win in five matches.

However, he couldn’t fully celebrate with his teammates, as he was in the hospital, dealing with pain. Fortunately, BUL has since provided a reassuring update. According to the club’s official statement, medical tests ruled out any internal damage, and Ngobi is now recovering well.

“We are relieved to announce that Pascal Ngobi is out of danger and has regained consciousness,” the club stated. “CT scan results confirmed that he fortunately did not sustain any head injuries,” BUL added, crediting the swift intervention of their medical team and the quality emergency care at Rubaga Hospital for preventing further complications.

Meanwhile, BUL remain firmly in the league title race, sitting third in the UPL standings with 19 games played, winning eight, drawing eight, and losing three.

Next up, the Eastern Giants will host URA FC on Friday, March 14, as they look to strengthen their position in the title chase.
