Matchday 24 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League got off to a slow and goalless start, with Tuesday’s doubleheader serving up cagey encounters and no goals.

In Hoima, Kitara FC failed to bounce back from their recent 2-1 loss to NEC as they settled for a barren draw with Lugazi FC.

The visitors, fresh from a 2-2 draw against UPDF FC, proved stubborn, frustrating the title outsiders to a point. Kitara, now on 36 points, sit fifth, a distant 17 behind runaway leaders Vipers SC.

Lugazi, meanwhile, edge slightly clear of the drop zone with 28 points, three places above the red line.

Earlier in Kavumba, a relegation six-pointer between Soltilo Bright Stars and Wakiso Giants ended in similar fashion, with neither side able to find a breakthrough. Both teams remain buried in the bottom three, with Bright Stars stuck on 16 points, three behind Wakiso and just six games left to rescue their topflight status.

With Tuesday’s dull start in the books, all eyes now turn to Wednesday’s action, where SC Villa visit Mbarara City while URA host KCCA FC in what promises to be the headline fixture of the day and hopefully, one that finally brings goals back to Matchday 24.
