Vipers SC have received a major injury boost ahead of the second round of the Uganda Premier League, with their skipper Milton Karisa back on the turf.
Karisa sustained an injury during Vipers' narrow 1-0 victory over Maroons FC last month at Kitende, sparking fears he could be sidelined for two months. However, the club has now confirmed that the forward is back running as he continues his recovery process.
The workaholic player has been instrumental in Vipers' strong start to the 2024/25 season, netting seven league goals. He is currently the club’s second-highest scorer, behind Allan Okello, who has found the net 11 times.
During the January transfer window, Vipers strengthened their squad by signing striker Isaac Ogwang while midfielder Marvin Youngman returned to the team. Additionally, talented youngster Claude Wakenge was promoted to the senior squad.
Vipers SC sit atop the Uganda Premier League standings with 34 points and will kick off their second-round campaign against URA FC on Tuesday, 11th February 2025.
