Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC has officially unveiled attacking midfielder Hussein Ssenoga who joins the club on a one-year deal from Buganda Regional League outfit Free Stars FC.
Ssenoga, a former Express FC player is set to link up with his new teammates immediately as he begins training and integrates into the squad. Expressing his excitement about the move, Ssenoga said, “I feel really excited and grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here, and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this team.”
Ssenoga’s football journey began in 2011 at Free Stars FC, where he made an instant impact by scoring six goals and providing two assists in 28 appearances. His performances earned him the Youngest Player of the Season Award.
In 2014, he joined The Saints Football Club in the FUFA Juniors League before moving to Hearts Kyebando United FC in the Kampala Regional League, where he was named Most Influential Player at the end of the season.
A return to Free Stars FC in 2017 saw him solidify his reputation, winning the Player of the Season Award in consecutive years (2019 and 2020). His consistent performances eventually earned him a move to Express FC, where he showcased his skills in the Uganda Premier League for two seasons before returning to Free Stars earlier this year.
Lugazi FC, currently in 12th place on the Uganda Premier League table with 14 points after 15 matches, will be looking to Ssenoga to provide the creativity and attacking edge they need to climb further away from the relegation zone.
