Mbarara City FC has officially completed the signing of midfielder Ibrahim Kazindula, bringing experience and depth to their squad for the second round of the Uganda Premier League season.
Kazindula was on the verge of joining Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) in the previous transfer window, but the deal fell through. After missing the first half of the season, he has now joined the Ankole Lions.
A former Jinja Secondary School student, Kazindula has played for Busoga United FC, Kyetume FC, Horseed FC in Somalia and BUL FC. During his time at BUL FC, he won the 2022 Stanbic Uganda Cup and the 2023 Pilsner Super 8 trophies, cementing his reputation as a reliable midfielder.
In related news, Mbarara City has lodged a formal petition with FUFA regarding KCCA FC's fielding of Gavin Kizito Mugweri during their recent 2-0 defeat at Kakyeka Stadium. The Ankole Lions argue that Gavin was ineligible for the match due to suspension from card accumulation.
Currently sitting 13th on the Uganda Premier League table with 14 points, just two above the relegation zone, Mbarara City will be hoping Kazindula’s arrival bolsters their chances of climbing the standings in the second half of the season.
