URA FC bounced back to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over UPDF FC last night at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo, securing their ninth win of the season after 19 matchdays.

The victory saw the Tax Collectors leapfrog Kitara FC to move into fourth place on the league table. UPDF FC came into the match on a solid two-game winning streak, having defeated SC Villa 2-0 in their previous fixture.

Meanwhile, URA FC were desperate for a response after their setback against Kitara FC. Moses Aliro gave the hosts an early lead in the 11th minute, setting the tone for an intense first half.

However, UPDF found their way back into the game through Rashid Faridi, who struck in the 61st minute in style to level the score.

Coach Alex Isabirye’s side had to dig deep, with Abraham Tusubira stepping up five minutes later to restore URA’s lead, securing all three points against a determined UPDF side.

At Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, title contenders NEC FC were held to a goalless draw by Wakiso Giants, dropping crucial points in the title race and are now four points behind leaders Vipers SC
