Ugandan Premier League outfit Vipers SC have re-hired the services of midfielder Marvin Joseph Youngman on a two-year contract that will keep him at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende until January 2027.
According to a statement on the club’s official website, the 26-year-old Uganda Cranes international, who is returning from Soltilo Bright Stars FC, was signed on the recommendation of co-coaches John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Youngman said: “My two years at Vipers Sports Club were a time of pure contentment for me, both on and off the pitch.
“I grew as a person and a player, developed a special relationship with the Vipers fans and enjoyed amazing success. It was an exceptional period in my life. To have the opportunity to return here means so much.”
He added: “I don’t want it to sound too nostalgic to be honest, because it’s still about competing. It’s still about having that drive. It’s still about trying to be the best version of yourself and that’s all an ambition that I still have, incredibly in myself.”
“But I still want to prove myself every day in training sessions and games and still become the best possible version of myself. I still have an incredible sense for winning, for competing and I think the package that you get here, right now today, you can’t find it anywhere else, and that made it for me very, very easy to come back.”
Youngman previously enjoyed remarkable success at Vipers, playing a pivotal role in their 2022/2023 double-winning season, clinching the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup under coach Alex Isabirye.
