Ugandans abroad: Fazila Ikwaput scores hat-trick in India

Ugandan forward Fazila Ikwaput was the star of the weekend, netting a brilliant hat-trick as her Gokulam Kerala side edged East Bengal 3-2 in the Indian Women's League. Despite the loss, fellow Ugandan striker Resty Nanziri put up a strong performance scoring both goals for East Bengal.



Sweden


Calvin Kabuye started from the bench as his Mjällby lost 2-1 at home to DIF Fotboll in a friendly.


John Paul Ddembe was also a substitute as his BK Häcken side fell 1-0 to Danish outfit FC Nordsjælland in another friendly.

Joan Nabirye made her debut for Trabzonspor Women, helping them secure a dominant 6-0 win over Bornova.


Greece


Yudaya Nakayenze featured for REA Women as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to PAOK Women.


India


Fazila Ikwaput stole the show with a hat-trick as Gokulam Kerala edged East Bengal 3-2.

Resty Nanziri netted a brace for East Bengal despite the loss.


Joanita Ainembabazi played for Kickstart FC in their 2-1 defeat to NITA FA.


Hajidah Nandago and Aminah Nababi featured as Sethu FC secured a 2-0 win over HOPS.


England


Toby Sibbick played the full match and received a yellow card in the 89th minute as Wigan Athletic drew 1-1 with Lincoln City.


Nathan Odokonyero came on in the 60th minute as Ebbsfleet lost 2-0 to FC Halifax.

Bellagambi Giosue was an unused substitute as Barnet edged Tamworth 1-0.

Timothy Awany played the entire game as Ashdod settled for a 2-2 draw with Maccabi Petah Tikva.

Elio Capradossi completed the full match as Cittadella suffered a 2-0 defeat to Spezia.

Pius Wangi and Faruk Musisi featured as Kakamega Homeboyz defeated Mara Sugar 2-0.


Pius Akena was on the bench as Gor Mahia edged Posta Rangers 2-1.


Sam Kintu played 48 minutes as Shabana FC drew 0-0 with Kariobangi Sharks.


William Wadri scored a brace to help Bandari FC secure a 3-2 win over Murang’a Seal.


George Kaddu played full-time, while Denis Iguma made his debut as Tusker FC drew 0-0 with KCB.

Sandra Nambweteme featured for Santos Laguna in their 3-0 loss to Atlético San Luis.

Elvis Bwomono played 82 minutes as St Mirren lost 1-0 to St Johnstone.


Jordan Obita was introduced in the 86th minute as Hibernian secured a 2-0 win over Aberdeen.


South Africa


Isima Watenga played for Golden Arrows as they lost 4-0 to Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns. Onyango remained on the bench.


Salim Jamal was in goal as Richards Bay played out a goalless draw with Magesi.


Charles Lukwago was on the bench as Venda FC thrashed Baroka 5-1.

Khalid Aucho played as Young Africans cruised to a 4-0 victory over Kagera Sugar.

It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Ugandan players abroad, with Ikwaput’s hat-trick and Wadri’s brace standing out as key highlights.
