URA FC head coach Alex Isabirye remains confident that his team is on the right path despite their inconsistent form in the ongoing StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Tax Collectors have struggled to string together back-to-back victories this season, currently sitting 9th on the log with 15 points.
“There are things you can’t change at once. We are trying each day to see that we change and it’s slowly coming," Isabirye explained. "We’ve been lacking character but if you look at our last two games you can see it’s coming and we are learning each day.”
Isabirye, who rejoined URA FC at the end of last season was tasked with restoring the club’s former glory. Notably, he was the last coach to guide URA to a league title more than a decade ago. His return was seen as a step toward reviving the club’s fortunes.
With a crucial fixture against Express FC looming this Friday, December 13, at Nakivubo Stadium, Isabirye will be hoping his side can build on recent performances.
The Nakivubo derby presents an opportunity for URA FC to claim a much-needed victory and perhaps begin the quest for more consistent results.
Despite the challenges, Isabirye remains upbeat, convinced that patience and persistence will yield results. “We are on the right track,” he said, hinting at a growing sense of belief within the squad.
URA FC will aim to display that progress against Express FC, a team also battling for stability under interim coach Kaddu Badru Mukasa. The derby clash promises to be a test of character and resolve for both sides.
