Uganda Cranes playmaker Ibrahim Kasule continues to shine on American soil after making history with New York Red Bulls II.

Over the weekend, Kasule netted once and provided an assist in his side’s thrilling 3-2 win over Chicago Fire II in the MLS NEXT Pro League. But beyond the three points, the moment carried historic weight—his goal took him to 25 for the club, making him the all-time leading goalscorer in New York Red Bulls II history.

“I'm overwhelmed for breaking the record of overall top scorer 25 goals at New York Red Bulls II and more awaits,” Kasule posted on his official X account, clearly savoring the milestone.

Since arriving in 2023, Kasule has been nothing short of sensational. He previously tied with Jared Stroud on 22 goals before renewing his contract in January this year. With his latest strike, he now stands alone at the summit of the club’s scoring charts.

In his debut season, he scored 15 goals—the highest in a single campaign for the club—earning him a deserved place in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI. His form also saw him clinch MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Month awards in July 2023 and March 2024.

Kasule also holds a share of another franchise record, having scored in seven straight matches between 6 June and 31 July, 2023.

His journey in MLS NEXT Pro began on 9 April, 2023, against Columbus Crew 2—and just over a year later, he’s etched his name into the club’s history books. And if his current form is anything to go by, there’s plenty more to come.
