Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier League (PSL) champions Simba Bhora have offered to transport the country’s senior women’s football team supporters to South Africa to cheer up the Mighty Warriors.
The fans hope to boost the morale of Zimbabwe as they host Angola in the first round, second leg match at Lucas Moripe Stadium, Pretoria next Tuesday.
Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Nqobile Magwizi has since saluted the gesture of Simba Bhora, saying it would motivate the Mighty Warriors.
"This act of generosity by Simba Bhora Football Club is a testament to the unity and shared vision we have for Zimbabwean football. Their support will go a long way in boosting the morale of our team and fostering a stronger football culture. We are deeply grateful for their contribution,” Magwizi said.
Zimbabwe captain Emmaculate Msipa insists there is light at the of the tunnel despite the first leg 2-1 loss to Angola on Thursday evening at Estadio 22 Juno in Luanda.
Angola won the game courtesy of Ary Papel’s brace with winger Ruvimbo Mucherera netting the equalizer for the Mighty Warriors. The winner between Zimbabwe and Angola will proceed to the final qualifying round to meet Malawi.
The Scorchers sailed through to the final round without kicking a ball after Congo withdrew from the qualifiers.
