The Eswatini women's national team, affectionately called Sitsebe SaMhlekazi, is shaping up for the forthcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia.
The first-round, first-leg match against the Brave Gladiators is scheduled for Somhlolo National Stadium on February 21. Makhukhula said his youthful charges are determined to deliver the goods against a strong Namibia side.
“The players are working very hard as they want to represent the country very well,” Makhukhula told Eswatini FA media. The coach said he was rebuilding the team with the infusion of graduates from the under-20 side.
“We are looking forward to a better performance considering the more time we will spend in camp than the previous camp when we were preparing for the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship,” he added.
Eswatini’s key player Sinethemba Sukati has since vowed to work hard in the game against Namibia.
“We are doing well in camp and this being my first call-up, I will work hard to help the national team get positive results,” she said.
Brave Gladiators coach Nicolas Jacobs has since summoned 40 players who reported for training on Sunday. The return leg will take place at Dobsonville Stadium in South Africa on 26 February
