Ghana's U-17 girls successfully hosted and won the WAFU ZONE B Girls Cup on Sunday evening.
The Black Maidens emerged victorious in a thrilling final against arch rivals, Nigeria in the maiden edition of the competition at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
Ghana took an early lead through Gertrude Amoafo in the 14th minute before extending their lead just five minutes later when Priscilla Mensah doubled the tally.
Nigeria’s Flamingos crawled back from the two goals down to settle the game at 2-2, leaving the Ghanaians on a jagged edge.
Both sides failed to drive home any further goals moving straight into the penalty shootouts after the entire duration.
