Wolverhampton Wanderers coach Vitor Pereira says he is not bothered that new signing Marshall Munetsi is yet to score as he signed him to help the Premier League team with midfield duties.

Despite not scoring, Munetsi did get credited for the assist on the lone goal in Wolves' 1-0 victory at Bournemouth. Pereira commented on the Zimbabwean following his strong performance:

“What I'm asking him to do is to help the team as a midfielder and to appear from the back into the box. And he has again a situation to score, and it was not today, but every time he appears there, he has a chance to score,” he said.

“But what I like about this player is the guy that can miss a goal in the opponent’s box and then after 30 seconds, he is defending in our box. This is what we wanted when we looked for him. We wanted to find a physical midfielder who can support the other two midfielders.”

Pereira said overall his players showed character to win the game despite finishing the game with 10 men following after a red card shown to Illia Zabarnyi.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder made his first start in three games for Wolves as they won the game courtesy of Matheus Cunha’s 14th goal of the season.
