The suspense surrounding Rulani Mokwena's future at Wydad Casablanca has ended. The South African coach has decided to continue his career with the Red and Whites despite internal pressure and sustained criticism following the club's elimination from the Coupe du Trône.

According to sources close to the matter, a frank exchange recently took place between the coach and club president Hicham Aït Menna. The latter made no secret of the existence of tensions and calls for change coming from several circles close to Wydad. But one reality is clear: the cost of Mokwena's early dismissal would be too high for the club's current finances.

Rather than bowing to the pressure, the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach has shown his determination. There is no question of him resigning or negotiating an exit. Mokwena wants to see out the rest of the season. His goal is clear: to snatch second place in the championship, synonymous with qualification for the next Champions League, and to give the team at least a place on the podium.

Having lost all hope of a national title this season, Mokwena has only one card left: honor. And he intends to play it to the fullest.

Known for his dedication and professionalism, the South African has also ruled out any immediate move to another club. "He loves Wydad," confided those close to him, and he even hopes to be on the bench at the 2025 Club World Cup, which the United States will host from June 15 to July 13.

For now, the chapter on his departure is closed. Mokwena looks ahead to the next match with one ambition intact: to bring a smile back to a frustrated, but still passionate, crowd.
