Young Africans (Yanga SC) head coach Sead Ramovic has reiterated the club’s desire to defend the Mainland Premier League title.

The Timu ya Mwananchi will return to the domestic action with a fixture against Mashujaa FC at KMC Complex in Mwenge on Thursday. The fixture comes a few days after Yanga secured a 1-1 draw against TP Mazembe in their third Group A fixture of the Caf Champions League.

“We have played three matches in the Champions League and now we shift our focus to the league. We want to fight and make sure we defend the title, I have talked to my players about the importance of getting three points from the game against Mashujaa and we are ready,” Ramovic told Pan-Africa Football.

“We have a good opportunity to perform well, but I have warned my players not to underrate our opponents. Any complacency will be calamitous and that is why all my players are focused to do the job at hand. Our training sessions have been superb, we are in a great mood to finish the job and get three points.”

Yanga will miss the services of Zambia midfielder Clatoua Chama, who is out injured. They are currently sitting fourth on the table with 27 points, six fewer than table leaders Azam FC.

Yanga have managed nine wins, no single draw and suffered two defeats.
